Summer of Strategic Reading

As we’ve said time and time again, reading is fundamental. Well, we didn’t make that phrase up, but we love to spread it around. After all, reading enriching books at least a little bit every day delivers the kinds of benefits we all want for ourselves and our children:

  • improved comprehension (which means more knowledge as well as better grades and scores)
  • increased speed (which mean less time doing homework, more test questions answered, and greater productivity)
  • advanced vocabulary (which means more sophisticated, persuasive communication)
  • decreased frustration (which means reading becomes more enjoyable, which inspires even more reading)

Plus, regular readers exhibit greater levels of happiness, community engagement, and mental health. What more could you want for your high schooler?

We launched our Strategic Reading Club to provide the structure, direction, and discussion many teens need to engage in real reading on a regular basis. We’ve also revised the structure of the club to focus on specific books. And we have quite a summer of strategic reading planned!

Choose from the scheduled books below or ones from your school, summer, or wish reading list that you’d like to assemble a reading group for. Or both! Through weekly Discord discussions and scheduled meetings, we’ll guide students through each great work each month, all for a special summer price of $60 per book:

JULY 2021: Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah
#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER–The compelling, inspiring, and comically sublime story of one man’s coming-of-age, set during the twilight of apartheid and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed.

AUGUST 2021: Atomic Habits by James Clear

James Clear, one of the world’s leading experts on habit formation, reveals practical strategies that will teach you exactly how to form good habits, break bad ones, and master the tiny behaviors that lead to remarkable results.

SEPTEMBER 2021: The Inner Game of Tennis: The Classic Guide to the Mental Side of Peak Performance by W. Timothy Gallwey

Each of these books is both very highly rated and promises powerful lessons and success strategies for anyone who reads them closely. Every teen should read them, and yours can… just register for the Strategic Reading Club today. Be sure to specify which books you have in mind.
