We like to think that anyone who works with Chariot Learning recognizes our commitment to the same levels of coaching, practice, and incremental improvement over time we teach our students. Simply put, every member of the team embraces the challenge of being a true test prep and/or tutoring professional rather than a hobbyist or dilettante. That level of industry understanding, educational expertise, and executive function makes a massive difference in student outcomes and does not happen by accident.
How does the Chariot Learning stay ahead of important developments in education and testing while delivering quality prep and practice testing to over 1000 students across Upstate New York a year? How did we nail the Best of Rochester Award in the Tutoring Service category for two years in a row?
The answer is simple: professional development.
When your founder has over 25 years of experience in the test prep industry and your teachers individually bring decades of experience, advanced degrees, and superior test scores to the table, your educational enterprise starts with an advantage. But sustaining excellence requires constant growth, research, and reflection. You can see the work we put into the blog on this site–which was appreciated by more than 90,000 readers in 2019–to stay not just current but ahead of the curve. You can also see–or rather hear–the same dedication in the Tests and the Rest podcast I host with the amazing Amy Seeley of Seeley Test Pros.
What most people don’t see is the extent to which we engage with other educators, college admissions experts, and test prep professionals to train, teach, organize, and improve. Because knowing that the test prep provider you trust is also trusted and respected across the county matters, I want to share one example of the leadership role Chariot Learning takes in the test prep industry. This coming January, Amy and I are hosting the Tests and the Rest Winter Conference 2020. Test prep teachers, publishers, and business owners from across the country will be joining us in Boca Raton for a two-day conference full of outstanding presentations, panels, and professional networking. Of course, I’ll be speaking and so will many of the most respected and brilliant test prep minds in the nation.
If you work in the test prep industry, you should strongly consider attending the Tests and the Rest Winter Conference 2020 either in-person or via livestream. If not, you may find better reasons to visit Florida in January but knowing about our upcoming event still means something. When the time comes to choose a test prep or tutoring provider, you have a lot of very important details to consider. One bonus to add to that list is to ask whether the provider you are considering entrusting your child’s success to is a nationally respected leader in the field or just another solo operator. I know which one I’d choose…
Happy holidays from all of us at Chariot Learning!
